Theme – Is this a wonderful world?

This term, we will be focusing our learning around the theme, ‘Is this a wonderful world?’, which has a RE focus. We will be building on key vocabulary learnt around Christianity, extending understanding to include special places of worship and linking this to Islamic religious views.

Week 1 RE

Christianity and Islam – How do people express their religious beliefs?

  • I will know that a place of worship for a Muslim is a mosque.

Week 2 – Music

Sing and Play, Improvise and Compose and Listen and Appraise

  • I will play a selection of small hand-held percussion.

Week 3 – Science

Physics – Seasons (Summer)

  • I will identify the places in the school grounds where we will get the best opportunity for seeing signs of summer.

Week 4 – RE

Christianity and Islam – How do people express their religious beliefs?

  • I will know that a special object for a Muslim is a prayer mat.

Week 5 PSHE

My Feelings; Listening to my feelings; Kind and caring;  What makes me special; I’m special, you’re special; Same and different.

  • I will know what is the same and different about themselves and their peers.

Week 6 – Music
